There are plenty of ways to keep warm as the dead of winter approaches — wool sweaters and sitting around bonfires or our patio heaters, to name a few. But one of the most delicious ways to stay cosy is to turn on the stove and make something that'll warm you up — and more often than not, that means soup.
Winter vegetables like squash, carrots, parsnips, onions, garlic and more challenge our imagination to create delicious and hearty soups.
Learn to make the stocks you need to create the most flavourful soups. In this class, we make Tuscan Sausage and Kale soup, Baked French Onion Soup, and Tomato Cashew Soup (vegetarian). (Please note that the menu may change based on the availability of ingredients and our creative impulses).
After the preparation, our chef will serve the soups with delicious, fresh Baguettes. The students will be seated to enjoy their creations. This is not a class that has a three-course meal; however, sampling all of the soups will suffice as a meal. During the meal, the student chefs will explain how they prepared their recipe so that everyone learns to make all the dishes. The recipes will be e-mailed to the students after the class
Menu
The stated menu may differ due to seasonality, ingredient availability, and our creative impulses. However, the final menu will remain faithful to the course theme.
Class Time: 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
